Forty percent of university students have reported they are worried that they will run out of food as they deal with the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, according to a new report.

Professor Greta Defeyter led a collaborative project across Northumbria University, City; University London; Ulster and Oklahoma State Universities to investigate students level of food insecurity and mental wellbeing during April, after universities in both nations ceased campus-based teaching. The research leads at each university are: Dr Michael Long at Oklahoma State University; Dr Sinéad Furey at Ulster University; Dr Christian Reynolds at Sheffield University (now at City, University of London), and Prof Paul Stretesky at Northumbria University. The full list of contributors are named as co-authors on the report which can be found here
