Professor Karen McKenzie
Karen completed her first degree in Psychology at the University of Edinburgh, where she subsequently undertook her professional training as a Clinical Psychologist, her doctorate in Psychology and MSc in elearning. She has worked with people with developmental disabilities for over 20 years, both within the NHS and non-statutory organisations. She joined Northumbria University in 2014 after a number of years working at the University of Edinburgh. She co-developed the ‘Learning Disability Screening Questionnaire’ and ‘Child and Adolescent Intellectual Disability Screening Questionnaire’ both of which are used nationally and internationally in clinical and forensic settings. She is currently an external examiner for Lancaster University.
