Healthy Living Director appointed to Breakfast Club Awards Judging Panel

Professor Greta Defeyter, Director of Healthy Living has been appointed as a judge  for this year’s Kellogg’s Breakfast Club awards. Winning clubs will be invited to an award ceremony which will take place on 22nd November at the Houses of Parliament.

Professor Defeyter said:

“It’s a huge honour to be part of the judging panel for these awards. Breakfast clubs bring so many benefits to children and families. As well as  access to good, nutritious food,   there are many other benefits associated with breakfast clubs, including improved friendships, more opportunities for socialisation, reduction in victimisation and calmer morning routines in the home.”

There are five awards categories, including: Promoting a healthy lifestyle, Extra Learning, Long Life and Sustainability, Breakfast Club Hero and Best Breakfast Club. A prize of £1,500 is available for each category, with the overall winner of the Best Breakfast Club will receive a £2,000 prize.

Entries need to be submitted by email to breakfastclubUK@kellogg.com by Friday, 7th October 2016.

More information on the awards can be found at: http://www.kelloggs.co.uk/en_GB/kelloggs-breakfast-club-awards.html
