The latest piece of research by the Healthy Living team, “School Holiday Food Provision in the UK: A Qualitative Investigation of Needs, Benefits and Potential for development” has just been published on line in Frontiers in Public Health, and is available to download at: http://journal.frontiersin.org/article/10.3389/fpubh.2016.00172/full
Director of Healthy Living, Professor Greta Defeyter said:
“There is a dearth of academic, peer reviewed literature on the important topic of school holiday provision. This paper provides evidence that those involved in providing and running school holiday clubs with food believe that there is a very real need for this type of provision in order to meet the needs of families who are facing food insecurity and isolation in the long summer break.
“I congratulate Dr Pamela Graham and the co-authors of this valuable research, the second such academic, peer reviewed paper on the subject of holiday provision produced by the Healthy Living team.”
